LiveSeeding Annual Conference 2025  Einbeck, Germany

From Knowledge to Action  From Collaboration to Sustainability

Collaboration for the Future of Organic Seeds

The LiveSeeding Annual General Meeting 2025 took place in Einbeck, Germany.
For three days, participants from across Europe shared experiences and ideas. Together, they worked to strengthen European seed systems and build a common path toward sustainable and fair seed production.

OIKOS SEEDS joined as a project partner of LiveSeeding, contributing actively to the promotion of organic seeds in Europe.
Mr. G. Kostakis represented the company and took part in discussions and workshops throughout the event.

Conference Objectives and Key Themes

Over the three days, participants:
✅ Reviewed the project’s progress and defined the next steps.
✅ Focused on actions to improve quality management and biodiversity in organic heterogeneous material (OHM).
✅ Shared case studies on variety evaluation and proposed practical applications.
✅ Exchanged data and experiences to shape strategies for the coming decade in Europe’s organic seed sector.

In short, the conference turned collaboration into concrete planning for the future.

From Biodiversity to Strategy

Sessions highlighted how biodiversity and quality management can drive innovation in organic seeds.
Interactive workshops brought together scientists, producers, and certification bodies.

Meanwhile, national initiatives from Switzerland, Poland, Portugal, and Spain showed how different countries are implementing strategies to increase the use of organic seeds across the EU.
These examples inspired participants to adapt best practices to their own markets.

Experience and Inspiration from the Hosts

The event was hosted at KWS AG facilities, while the final day took place at Bingenheimer Saatgut AG and Kultursaat e.V.
Participants visited experimental fields, explored diverse crop varieties, and discovered valuable seed collections that shape the future of organic agriculture in Europe.

Special thanks are extended to KWS Deutschland, Bingenheimer Saatgut AG, and Kultursaat e.V. for their hospitality, organization, and open spirit of collaboration
